Agency Comments: Ami Bera Rep-HR1 passed, Rio Linda picked for FY 2026, Congressional App challenge deadline Oct 30th,
Approval of the prior minutes: Tonia motioned to approve, Kathy 2nd, motion passes. Treasures Report: John motioned, Dan 2nd, motion passes.
Committee Updates:
Mayor’s Race- Country Lions possibly jumping in, with a mother & daughter.
Mayor’s Dinner- no update
Community Champion- no update
Light Contest/Parade- no update
Scholarship-Launch next one in January of 2026.
Mixers- Stacy is moving Meet the Officials to August, date to be determined. Aug 22nd,
Business walk at 12:45. More events planned. Stacy stated she only needs the funds for John for each mixer. The remainder of the cost of events will be donated.
Community Membership/Involvement- no update
County Liaison- Sent message to Matt Hedges.
Grant Committee- 6 events planned, Interviews, AI, Work life Balance, Workshop young entrepreneurs, Q&A Business testimonials, collaborate with other local chambers.
Old Business
1.Passports (Tonia)- Mom and Pop Shop Stop, Tonia will start digital versions and samples and marketing.
2. Car Show- Both parties plan to work it out.
New Business
Directors’ comments: Stacy- NNO is on Tuesday, August 5th 6pm-8pm. Almost done with football and track fields, construction at westside. Cathy- helping with Tommy’s Backpack Drive. Dan- Zucchini Races August 9th 9am-1pm, country Faire Sept 20th. Kathy- Prime Rib Dinner went well, Sat 9th breakfast fundraiser. 8am. Tonia- Grotto is selling Rio Rooster, Rio Java has a whipped honey espresso for Tonia’s Mayor campaign. Hometown Hallelujah concert coming up.
Public comments: Meg- July 20th national Ice cream day. Golden tickets being hidden for free sundae. Jennifer Boddie- summer camp July 14 -August 15.
