President Opening Comments:
Agency Comments:
Approval of the prior minutes:Correct spelling of Stacy’s name, Dan is awesome, Tonia motioned, John 2nd, Anthony and Dan opposed, Stacey abstained. Motion passes.
Treasurer’s Report: Grant approved for $14,000, add Grant Committee. Tonia chair, Stacy, Dan, LeeAnn. Anthony motioned, Troy 2nd. Motion passes.
Committee Updates:
Mayor’s Race- 3 Mayors currently, Tonia motioned to purchase $500 worth of tickets, Troy 2nd, motion passes.
Mayor’s Dinner- Katherine
Community Champion- Tonia is working on it.
Light Contest/Parade- Meeting next month.
Scholarship- Done, Thank you to Direct Hit for helping fund the scholarships. 3 winners. Launch next year in January.
Mixers- Lunch and Learn, 12 non profits came and spoke. No cost to the Chamber. July 15th meet officials, 6:30pm.
Community Membership/Involvement- down on memberships.
County Liaison- Anthony is passing Chair to John. John is scheduling a meeting with Rosario. Business watch tomorrow at 10:30.
Old Business
1.Passports (Tonia)- working on printing costs.Tonia, Cathy, Dan, Susan, Jessica.
New Business
1.Quilt Trail- adding to Papa Murphy wall. Hopefully they can come to the Chamber meeting next month.
Directors’ comments:
Anthony- Rio Java, baking your own goods!! Dan is awesome.
Tonia- Anthony took kids and went to teacher appreciation at Rio Java. Tonia is running for Mayor.
Troy-Will not make the next meeting.
Cathy- Lifeponte doing vacation bible school June 16th-20th. Sandie running for Mayor.
Kathy- Fish fry was great, mud wrestling has been canceled. Rocco is running for Mayor. Rocco’s Tacos fundraiser tomorrow night June 10th. The Historical Society last night was great. Teaching water work out Monday for Parks & Rec.
John- Alley Cats car show coming up, Rio Linda will be a part of the Country Fair this year.
Dan- The Pointe Church comedy show. Farmers market is officially open. Highlands is having their VBS, Zucchini Races at the Grange coming up.
Stacy- Neighborhood Association getting ready for NNO, Tuesday August 6th. Looking for donations. Meeting June 23, 6:30 @ Tummy’s. Wanting to bring back Grad to Rio Linda. Westside getting upgrades.
Public comments:
LeeAnn- The Car Show impacted the Gas Station, they sent an email asking for it to be addressed. The Chamber will reach out to all parties involved.
Susan- Grotto doing some deals, check facebook page for updates. Passed out flyers.
Paul- has sponsorship forms to help offset the cost of the Zucchinni Fest event and the vision of the Grange.
Jason- Here to talk about the water district, it needs community support. Next meeting next Monday at 6;30 at the Depot Building.
