A-1 Storage is the RLE Chamber member of the month for August.
A-1 Storage has been serving the community since the mid-80s, but the property it sits on goes much further back. In fact, it’s historical to our community.
Gustave Donsing was a charter member of the Rio Linda Poultry Producers Association in 1920, and A-1 Storage sits in the space once occupied by the Donsing Breeding Farm and Hatchery. In 1952, the Donsing ranch was worth over $250,000 while producing over one million leghorn chicks each year which were sent all over the country.
Time moves on, and as the Donsing family left, The Stadley family moved in and converted the property to self-storage. Today, A-1 Storage serves nearly 650 customers with storage units as small as 20 sq. ft., and as large as 2300 sq. ft. They also have storage available for cars, boats, trucks, RVs or travel trailers, and construction equipment.
And how’s this for a promotion; Everyone gets their second month for free.
The General Manager at A-1 Storage, John Todd, is also the publisher of the Rio Linda/Elverta area’s only locally owned and operated newspaper, The Rio Linda Messenger. The Messenger is also a member of the RLE Chamber.
You can visit A-1 Storage at 1346 Q Street in Rio Linda, right at the corner of 14th and Q. They can be reached at 916-432-2790. Business hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday thru Saturday, 1pm to 6pm on Sundays.
